From the recording Nobody Loves My Baby

I was jamming with a group of Jazz musicians and we were playing a few blues tunes. I was being my usual joking self and I said “Hey it’s a blues tune, anyone can write one of those!” So they said “ok, you write one. And this is what I came-up with. (It was a lot harder than I thought)

Lyrics

I said nobody loves my baby
No one not even me
No one loves my baby Lord
That’s to plain to see
She just lies in bead all morning
And drowns in misery’

Blue is here color
It taints everything is sight
Blue is here color Lord
It taints everything in sight
She’s got the light blues in the morning
She gets the deep blues in the night

Lord she’s got me worried
I’m worried can’t you see
Lord she’s got me worried
Just as worried as can be
Cause everyone keeps sayin
She made a dam fool out of me

The old Sun rose up this morning
Just as warm as he can be
That old Sun rose up this morning
Just as warm as he can be
It makes not difference how ware the day gets
It won’t take the chill off of me

I said nobody loves my baby
No one not even me
No one loves my baby Lord
That’s to plain to see
She just lies in bead all morning
And drowns in her own sympathy
